Track each process from its own actual notices and requirements. A date estimated for an EB-5 petition does not predict the Gold Card vetting, gift instructions or immigrant-visa sequence.
Identify the decision each date depends on
Prepare a short table identifying the issuing authority, case reference, notice date and action requested. Keep a project administrator’s investment update outside the government-decision column. If a reviewer recommends changing course, identify what happens to outstanding EB-5 obligations and any action deadline rather than silently deleting that case from the calendar. Gold Card still requires the applicable EB-1 or EB-2 eligibility basis, admissibility and visa availability; paying processing or receiving an employer’s internal confirmation does not resolve those matters. Follow official directions on vetting and the subsequent gift instead of deriving a payment date from the EB-5 construction schedule. Before changing employment, school or housing plans, identify which actual immigration event would permit the planned activity and whether another person’s step depends on the principal. A private withdrawal request or unanswered enquiry does not by itself extend a government deadline or grant permission to move.
Calendar each notice by issuer and required legal response. For Gold Card, record the online application and US$15,000 nonrefundable DHS processing fee first; after settlement comes the USCIS prompt for Form I-140G, then vetting, and only after vetting may the US$1 million gift request follow. Track the separate EB-5 petition, project communications, visa events, and contractual deadlines without using one schedule to predict another. Gold Card proceeds through EB-1 or EB-2, never EB-5. Re-verify official instructions before any funds move or plans become irreversible.
Hypothetical example: a Clarence-Rockland agricultural-drone company founder receives an EB-5 project update, a lawyer’s document request, and an automated Gold Card payment confirmation during the same week. Her table identifies the sender, case number, required action, and consequence of inaction for each item. She does not treat the project’s construction milestone as a USCIS deadline or the processing-payment confirmation as completed vetting. Employment, school, and housing decisions remain provisional until counsel identifies the specific immigration event authorizing the planned move.
